Greetings Alesians, welcome to Tynwald Court!
Following the recent ruling of Regional Chieftain Vercingetorix Maximus (see below), I hereby welcome you to Tynwald Court - the legislative body of the interim government of Aleisa. All citizens of Alesia have a rightful seat in Tynwald, and you are free, though feel also moved and encouraged, to propose legislature, participate in legislative debate and vote at your discretion.
As first Speaker of Tynwald, I am most honoured to guide the legislative process during Alesia's pioneering days of finding her way on the political landscape. I am more than thrilled to forge a strong and robust region for all.
Please enjoy yourself in reading the legislative rights and duties of Tynwald as set by the Regional Chieftain. Additionally, as Speaker, I wish to address some further issues:
- I am absolutely sure that any of you are perfectly capable of the use of proper speech and entertain a decent amount of civility. Please make my task as enjoyable as possible!
- Feel free to create a new, separate thread within the Tynwald Court for each legislative proposition you might have, or intend to advocate for; or
- If debates and/or votes are occurring, do feel encouraged to weigh in and participate in the discussion, even if has already started or if near conclusion. All opinions matter and are equal, and I am eager to hear yours.
- If you have any other questions or advice regarding the Tynwald Court, its proceedings, decorum, powers, duties - or if you just want to know what my favourite colour is -, do send me a personal message via the board, or find me on Discord.
Any legislative updates I will address below in further posts, so make sure you regularly check this thread to stay fully updated!
Was signed,
Chris Palmer

* Legislative votes are "by voice" - you post in the thread itself, no forum polls.
* The Speaker is empowered to determine the beginning and ending of voting periods, which may be no shorter than 24 hours.
* In the absence of the Speaker, the founder is empowered to start and stop votes as needed.
* All legislation passes with a simple majority.
